Made in Canada. Built to Last. This Is Our Story.
Our company was profiled by the Globe and Mail for a feature about our family business and manufacturing in Canada. Read a short summary below or view the full article HERE
There's a factory in Toronto's East York neighbourhood where the machines have been running for nearly 40 years. Three generations of the Khimasia family have built their lives around it — and around making socks that Canadians can be proud of.
When Sunil Khimasia bought Ontario Hosiery in 1988, the factory supplied some of Canada's biggest sports brands. Through the 1990s, as domestic manufacturing collapsed and brands moved overseas, the family made a deliberate choice: stop chasing volume, start chasing quality.
That pivot led to the acquisition of J.B. Field's — a heritage outdoor sock brand dating back to 1877 — and a new focus on technical, premium socks made from merino wool. Today, 85% of our products are still made right here in Canada.
Now a second generation has stepped in. Sid runs e-commerce and wholesale; his sister Priyanka leads marketing and three Toronto retail locations. Online sales doubled from 2024 to 2025, and the buy-Canadian movement has never felt more real.
"People are waking up," Sid says. "They want to support Canadian. They want manufacturing jobs to stay here."
So do we.
